About My Story
Born and raised in Munich to a German mom and an American dad, Jennifer Tanksley-Coss, CPP developed a love for photography at a very young age.
After receiving her first Agfamatic pocket camera at the age of seven, she vividly remembers spending many hours with her brother staging elaborate scenes to capture on film. They used virtually anything they could find around the house to bring their dreams to life. Blue plastic bags became lakes. Stuffed animals magically came to life. Rocks, sticks, and feathers were thrown into the mix to further enliven the scene. From this playful time on, Jennifer has never stopped taking photographs.
After years of training, Jennifer began her professional career as a camera technician for 35mm High-Speed Cameras in the motion picture industry, while at the same time servicing and rebuilding those very cameras. It was then that the symbiotic relationship between her career and her passion took shape.
Jennifer moved to Los Angeles in the fall of 2000. Her highly specialized training and extensive experience in motion pictures provided Jennifer with steady work. She was then able to join the IATSE Local 600, and worked as a camera assistant until her daughter was born in 2010, followed by a son in 2012. During those assisting years, she was able to watch and learn from some of Hollywood's finest artists and film makers.
Today, Jennifer enthusiastically mergers her artistic fervor with her technical expertise to create pictures that bring her clients joy and pride as they capture memories together. Photography is her passion, and she feels incredibly fortunate to call it her job.
She recently earned CPP designation through the prestigious PPA organization (Professional Photographers Of America)
